Although Apple released the second generation of the AirPods Pro in 2022, the tech company has announced a new product refresh a year later. The premium wireless earbuds now come with a USB-C charging case — instead of Lightning — to be more in line with the new charging port on the iPhone 15, as one of the smartphone’s accessories.
And best of all, the pair is now on sale for their all-time lowest price ever — ahead of Prime Day in October.
Discounted to $199.99, or $49.01 off, at Amazon, the new AirPods Pro feature the same top-tier audio quality and exceptional noise-cancelling features as last year’s model. However, aside from the new USB-C charging case, the earbuds are also dust resistant — which is an addition to the pair’s already water resistant design.
You can pre-order a pair now for release on September 22.
Meanwhile, the earbuds also support high quality lossless audio when paired with the upcoming Apple Vision Pro headset, which is expected to drop in early 2024.
The AirPods Pro are the best model from the AirPods family tree, thanks to their useful features, such as seamless pairing with the iPhone, iPad, MacBook, Apple TV and more; Adaptive Transparency mode to dampen down loud environmental noises like at a sporting event or concert; spacial audio for virtual surround sound; customizable in-ear fit and long battery life of up to 30 hours with their charging case — which also supports wireless charging.
If you currently have last year’s model, it’s probably not worth upgrading since this new refresh is incremental. But, if you’re looking for a new pair, or looking to upgrade from the first generation or basic AirPods, then it’s worth picking up the AirPods Pro with USB-C charging case — especially at 20% off their list price.
